Children’s Classes

Children display art work produced during class

Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.  – Bahá’u'lláh

Bahá’í children’s classes are open to children aged 5-11 of all cultural and religious backgrounds.  The classes focus on the spiritual and moral development of children, and give them opportunities to develop spiritual qualities such as justice, kindness, cooperation with others, love and honesty.

Spiritual truth is universal and these classes, based on Bahá’í principles, teach children the practice and purpose of prayer and enable them to achieve their potential to make a postive contribution to the welfare of their community. For example, the principle of the oneness of humanity teaches freedom from prejudice and enables children to appreciate the diversity of the human race.

Learning is fostered in a variety of ways including stories, music, games, prayer and art work, and classes are conducted according to a standard curriculum by trained volunteers.  All teachers have child protection accreditation including police checks, as required by law.
