» ACT Bahá'í Community Vision

Like over five million Bahá'ís around the world, Bahá'ís in Canberra are striving to build a community that demonstrates practical solutions to meet the challenges of the modern world. We believe that our experience is a source of optimism for all who share our vision of humanity as one global family, and the earth as one homeland.

“The earth is but one country and mankind it's citizens”.
Bahá'u'lláh

» What is the Bahá'í Faith?

The Bahá'í Faith is the most recent independent world religion. It began in Persia in 1844. Today, over five million Bahá'ís live in 235 countries and territories around the world, and Bahá'í literature has been translated into more than 800 languages.

The central principle taught by Bahá'u'lláh, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith is that there is one God and that Divine Revelation is a continuous and progressive process. He stated that the time had come for the people of the world to put aside their differences and to unite on the basis of the teachings that he had brought.

The Foundation of the Bahá'í Faith is Unity. “The Unity of Religion” is one of the key principles of the Faith: that all religions are inspired by the same God and that the spiritual purpose and essential message of all religions are essentially the same. In addition to the unity of religion, a key principle of the Faith is “The Unity of Humankind”; that all people regardless of origin or gender are part of a single global family.

Bahá'u'lláh wrote:

“It is not for him to pride himself who loveth his own country, but rather for him who loveth the whole world. The earth is but one country and mankind it's citizens”.
